Back from Nekocon!

Twas awesome.

All seven of my art pieces sold! Yaaaay! Thank you to the two of you who bought my pieces, and thank you Hetalia bidder for keeping all 6 of the chibis together! You have the full set.

Friday
Friday was pretty short for my group since we arrived later in the day. We checked in the art pieces into the Art Auction and explored Artist Alley, in which there were Banquo and Colin cosplayers from Goodbye Chains! Yaaay!! *fangirl*

We went to a panel talking about anime that has been released domestically but didn't do so hot. Basically two guys making obscure show recommendations. *shrug* It was alright I suppose. Only one show seemed to capture the attention of my anime group called "The Soultaker". Personally I have no opinion regarding it, but my group seemed very interested.

After that was the AMV Salad 3 panel. The panel opened up showing AMV Salad 2 followed by the new project. My clips in both videos ( [link] ) ( [link] ) received great responses!

Saturday
We showed up around noon and I left my group to attend the Anime Swap-Meet. Basically everyone brings stuff from home they don't want anymore and we trade with one another. I'm not gonna bother listing the items I got up here, so look for my swag list at the bottom of the journal.

The AMV Contest was after that. The contest was set up a little differently this year in that the genres (drama, romance, comedy, action) were not in their usual order. My favorite video was a Fushigi Yuugi one that was set to a song ("There! Right There!") from the Legally Blonde musical. I liked the videos I saw, but I had to leave early to go to another panel I was interested in which was...

The Hetalia panel! It wasn't quite what I was expecting, but still entertaining. Kudos to the cosplayers, especially the America cosplayer. Also kudos to the Revolutionary War America and England for putting on an interesting display of "war" to us. xD;;

The Cosplay (Masquerade) was decent this year, but I've noticed the Cosplay seems to be lacking more and more entries as time goes on. I seem to recall it lasting much longer when I was still in high school. The skits for the most part were put on by younger cosplayers, and kudos to them for doing their best and entertaining us.

I attended the Anime Name That Tune as usual this year. And as usual, I lost. xD;; I got fourth place this time around. Ah well. Someday I'll win.

Sunday
Only panel we attended today was an Ouran High School Host Club panel in which all visitors got to choose a host to chat with (like an actual host club) and spend time with them. Me and a friend chose to be with Tamaki and somehow our group ended up playing Duck, Duck, Goose. xD;; It was a lot of fun and an excellent panel for its first time.
